Your responsibilities:

You will be supporting the business by using your data analysis skills and licensing knowledge to provide credible management information reporting to internal SAM customers. Daily tasks consist of liaising with internal customers with licensing queries, troubleshooting software requests, performing license reviews and generating ELPs.  You will be expected to challenge the internal processes and contribute to the continual improvement of SAM practice.

  • Effective use of SAM tools according to software processes and procedures to ensure Sky maintain accurate effective license positions.
  • To work closely with the relevant teams to ensure that operational processes relating to Software Asset Management are maintained and reviewed regularly.
  • To provide credible summarised SAM data for license usage, software audits and other standard reports as required to meet the requirements of the business.
  • To take ownership of support calls and see them through to an appropriate conclusion within expected service levels
  • To provide consultancy within the field of Software Asset Management to business stakeholders.
  • To have a keen awareness in the changing commercial landscape for the Software industry and to feed in news and investigate potential impacts to current modes of operation within the business.
  • In collaboration with the rest of the team, to continually contribute to the improvement of the SAM function and drive the development of better governance processes in line with business change.
  • To champion SAM and execute the activities around maintaining compliant software consumption and optimisation.

Your skills:

  • Proven end-to-end SAM experience, from inventory and entitlement inventory extraction to ELP and execution of software optimisation.
  • Data analysis & proficiency in Excel and BI tools.
  • SAM process evaluation.
  • Software licensing management in major software vendors – Oracle, IBM, Microsoft, Veritas, VMware.
  • High detective, analytical and problem solving capability.
  • Understanding of IT infrastructure and virtual environments.
  • IT Asset Management toolset experience.
