Planet is a travel app that makes organising memorable holidays simple for couples, families and groups of friends.
Holidays are so important to people, yet so much time is spent on mindless searching and form filling, trawling of websites and stressful decision making. We think there’s a better way.
We’re an ambitious early stage startup on a mission to disrupt the travel market.
Planet is made by a bunch of experienced, talented and passionate people and we’re looking for a talented full stack developer to join our team and help us change the way people travel.
We founded Planet in May 2016. We’ve raised a seed round of investment and we’re now developing an Alpha version of the product to rapidly validate our key technical and business model assumptions. The plan is to launch a closed beta version of the product in November and go live at the beginning of next year to align with the summer holiday booking period.
We’re currently a team of three with a huge amount of experience in the travel industry and consumer product development. We’re a product led business with technology at it’s core.
We’re looking for a fourth technical member of the team to help lead the development of our product and strengthen our engineering function. This is a key position in the business.
If you’re an experienced developer looking for the next phase of your career, this is an opportunity to setup and scale a world class technology function and culture, while taking part in key business decisions and crafting an exciting consumer product.
WE LIKE TO SEE PROVEN ABILITIES IN
- Python & Django
- Using Git (or any DVCS) to manage parallel development on a large codebase
- Use of PaaS, such as Google App Engine, Heroku, Elastic Beanstalk, or Windows Azure
- Development & consumption of HTTP APIs
Bonus points for people who enjoy: – Google Apps & APIs – Scaling applications across distributed machines – noSQL & SQL databases
As mentioned, we’re looking for a team member more than a strict employee. The package for this role will reflect this. We’re offering a combination of salary and sizable equity that will be the equivalent of an extremely competitive market rate.
We obviously also think it’s very important that holidays are part of the company culture. As such, we already have our first company skiing trip planned for January 2016. We hope you can ski (or snowboard) 😀
