Pinga Lead iOS Developer Job Description

We’ve launched the UK’s first crowd-sourced on-demand delivery service that brings you anything you need from nearby shops & cafes in less than 15 minutes, by using an incentivised group of ‘community runners’ close by.

Our users love Pinga because of the speed of service, low cost, and enjoyable social interaction when their item is delivered.

Our overall vision is to transform society so it becomes more normal to help people nearby – our investors are excited about the potential to scale to urban areas around the world.

We’ve already built a great app (check it out here) using a 3rd party developer and launched it at the University of Nottingham last year, where we grew to 1,300 active users in just 10 weeks.

Now it’s time to launch in London and make a good product even better; that’s where you come in. Joining our small team, you’ll code alongside the CEO/product owner and a great freelance app designer,  with complete autonomy for how the app is built and tested.

And finally…we work out of a cool office on the Southbank overlooking the river, with genuinely good coffee, and a choice of beer on tap and prosecco in the fridge – seriously.

The person we are looking for…

We’re looking for a brilliant iOS developer who is ready to put his or her experience into something that is already making a huge difference in the communities we operate in.

You’ll be someone who loves what we’re doing here and really gets behind our vision.

You may be interested in expanding your role and growing a team to manage our platform as we go through future funding rounds, but this is no way a requirement – what matters most to the business right now is rapidly evolving our app into something that achieves critical mass and improves people’s lives!

We anticipate that you will:

  • Either have at least a year’s commercial development experience with a technical degree background, or a strong argument why what you have done instead is at least as good!
  • Have taken several apps from concept to App Store release.
  • Be great at innovating and devising new ways of solving problems and improving the customer experience.
  • Have worked in agile environments and understand that there’s more to an effective agile team than standups and buzzwords.
  • Initially build on what we already have (built in Swift), but we are open to re-architecting in the future.
  • Have an interest in growth hacking and blockchain, and have ideas about how we can quickly grow when we launch in London.
  • Be a strong team player, not afraid to voice an opinion and take an active role in planning, user story development and rigorous peer review.

We will pay £25k – £35k for the right candidate, IN ADDITION to a generous Share Options package. As we’re such a young company there’s a real opportunity to become an integral part of something big.

Our current SDK stack

  • Swift-based iOS app
  • PHP + Laravel-based back-end (developed and maintained by an Estonian development house)
