We are looking for an experienced Senior Systems Developer to join our brand new Digital Products Team at NPL. The role involves designing and developing bespoke digital products that will transform and enhance NPL’s world-class calibration and measurement services. The successful candidate will report to the Head of Digital Products and will help create, shape and drive the growth of digital product design and delivery for NPL.

Working as part of the Digital Products team within the Commercial Directorate, this role is responsible for overall management and delivery of development, deployment and support of bespoke web applications and API frameworks to deliver digital commercial tools for NPL products and services.

About You

Requirements

  • Working with the Head of Digital Products, lead the development, delivery, test and deployment of the NPL digital product roadmap
  • Build and maintain customer and stakeholder relationships
  • Build extensive network across NPL and particularly with product managers.
  • Accountable for digital tool development roadmap and the timely delivery, test and deployment of digital tools.
  • Strong web applications development background in Java/JSPor .Net core using HTML5/JQuery
  • Strong practical knowledge of using Microservices and API RESTful services
  • Experience of deployment and working on Azure environment
  • Strong database development background in MS SQL Server (2005 or later)
  • Good practical knowledge of using OO methodologies in analysis and development
  • Practical experience of using design patterns and application frameworks
  • Practical experience in information security for product design and development
  • Experience of Agile work practices
  • Knowledge of React/React Native development would be an advantage
