The Validation Team!

Masabi are looking for a QA / Automation Engineer to join our JustRide Validation team and help improve our test capabilities across a growing number of platforms.

Masabi is the world’s leading provider of mobile ticketing solutions for the transport industry, allowing customers to buy and display tickets on their smartphone. Our JustRide mTicket applications mean that waiting in line for tickets is a thing of the past for customers whilst agencies are able to drastically reduce the cost of their operations. Our first major client was Boston in 2012. In 2014 we rolled out mobile ticketing to and Athens and this year we’re doing the same in New York as well as other major global cities.

As a member of our Validation team, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of products, all of which are highly visible to our customers. This spans from handheld mobile applications used by bus drivers and train conductors, to embedded hardware that is seen daily by end-users of our retail applications. You will play a big part in defining and shaping the solutions that we implement to ensure not only that our customers get a great experience, but also that we receive enough feedback about our implementation to iterate and improve upon it.

The Role

As our QA Automation Engineer you will be the key component of ensuring that the quality of our products is the responsibility of the team.

You will have the opportunity to work across a variety of applications and services including mobile apps, back office services, APIs, databases, and even embedded software running on validators that we fit to buses or station gates. We follow agile principles, which means we regularly ship updates to our customers for user acceptance testing and production.

You will therefore be responsible for feature and regression testing these updates. DevOps is something which we think is wonderful, and we do not forget about QA in this. As a QA you will have valuable input into how we can improve our products and environment configuration. Dev, QA and Ops work together when it comes to deploying to customer-facing and internal environments. Our ops team have worked very hard to ensure that you have the ability to play with environment config in your very own test environment, to ensure that we find and squash as many of those bugs as we can. Our test coverage consists of manual and automated testing but our aim is to fully automate the testing.

Some tools we use:
