Overview

The role:
We’re seeking an experienced visual designer for our small but ambitious design team. As a member of the Experience Design team at LendInvest, your mission will be to learn as much as you can about how to design a great property investment experience for our customers.

Following a user centred design process, you will:

Collaborate constantly: You’ll work as part of a close-knit agile team that includes product, development, and other experts. As a team, you’ll focus on one arm of our product portfolio.

Focus on outcomes: Alongside your team, you’ll identify and prioritise key business and customer outcomes. Then you’ll plan how to achieve these, identifying hypotheses and ways to test and visualise them rapidly and effectively.

Help people think clearer: You’ll create rapid lo-fi prototypes, sketches, diagrams, moodboards and whatever else is needed to communicate and refine the team’s thinking.

Do your best work yet: You’ll craft beautiful interfaces that are simple, but also easy to understand. Uncovering opportunities to push and evolve our visual styles and patterns to improve our product, you’ll obsess over the details at every step – from concept to customer.

Take ownership: You’ll develop the team around you, explaining and illuminating the ‘why’ behind design decisions made. You’ll stay closely involved in projects from earliest concept right through until it is live – helping make sure everything we launch looks great and works well.

Keep the customer in focus: You’ll help out on weekly customer research, concept testing, and usability testing. You’ll become a pro at asking the right questions, listening carefully to the answers we get, and applying and sharing the findings.

Who are you?

You’re an experienced visual designer: At the moment we’re looking for someone with a strong digital design background. A demonstrated interest in the design of interfaces for responsive web applications would be a major plus.

You’ve shipped mobile and web products: We’d like to see a portfolio filled with work you can talk to, and are proud of, showing you’ve got a solid design process and experience taking ideas from concept through to execution.

You’ll have experience developing and maintaining a design style guide: You’ll have the opportunity to help translate our mainly print-focussed brand into a digital pattern library (or Global Experience Language); we’ll be looking for familiarity with these across other brands.

Strong typographic and image skills: Our brand relies heavily on photography and type to get our message across to customers – in addition to interface design you’ll have experience incorporating these in an engaging way.

You embrace lean and modular design: You’re familiar with a range of design tools and you’re flexible with them as long as it gets the job done. You’re great at figuring out the level of detail and effort that will yield the maximum result.

What you’ll get in return:

Always be learning – We won’t ever expect you to do the same thing over and over. We want to give you new opportunities to become the best engineer you can be

Make a measurable difference – LendInvest isn’t another ‘Tinder for Cats’. We’re here to change the way the world deals with property by making it accessible for all

A great environment – Choose the hardware you need and work within our new office, complete with snacks, beer and a great team all working towards a common goal
