KidSitter is a London-based internet startup, that was founded for busy parents who often find themselves turning down social engagements because their babysitters are not available at short notice. With the aim of providing trusted babysitters to parents in London, KidSitter is a network of experienced and recommended sitters in the area, available to come and mind your child, whether you plan in advance or whether you have a last minute need. With the help of technology, KidSitter matches famlies with child care providers and makes it easy for parents to find child care, and for child care providers to earn some extra income.
KidSitter are looking for a Senior Front End Developer, to take ownership of their front end development and to lead on development of mobile apps using Ionic :
- Take ownership of all front end development (moving to Angular 2) and maintenance using modern techniques
- Lead on the Ionic 2-based mobile development
- Identify improvements and provide suggestions to make the KidSitter platform better
- Research and identify frameworks/tools/libraries that aid in implementing new features
- Respond to maintenance requests on the Live platform
Skills & Experience
- AngularJS 1/Angular 2
- RESTful Webservices
- Unit testing
- Ionic (Desirable or should be willing to learn)
- Experience of Agile/Kanban/Scrum methodologies
- At least 4 years of development experience
The position will report to one of the founders and is critical for the business.
Given that KidSitter is a startup, we are looking for three primary ingredients in our candidate.
We are learning as we go along building the platform and we would like you to do so too. We would like someone willing to pick up new skills where required and who goes that extra mile to help us bring new features online
We are an ambitious bunch, and would prefer someone who is just as ambitious if not more. There is hard work involved, and success will drive further opportunity for growth. To that extent, we need someone who will think of new ideas for improving processes and delivering new features quickly.
This is a very lean company and we need someone who is a self-starter, who can take ownership of tasks and get things done independently while not compromising on quality.
In addition, the candidate must have great communication skills in addition to technical skills and be able to multi-task and prioritize. The business will go through different phases, and the candidate must be able to switch gears, and wear multiple hats.
