We are looking for an exceptional hands-on CTO to join us in this exciting venture.

About the role
As CTO you will work within both the executive and technical teams. Within the technical team, you will build and inspire the team to work creatively towards our big vision and guide them through tough technical challenges. Your focus will be on developing an exciting and ground breaking, greenfield, advance credit analytics global IT platform and you will build up, manage and develop a global team over a period of time. You will work across teams and across countries and will have to be an excellent communicator to explain and understand intricate issues. You will play a key role in driving and guiding complex projects to completion on time and in developing and delivering software products and features to the highest quality, using a wide range of technologies and systems.

Within the executive team, you will be a partner to each area of the business, and work to apply technology in a way that has a positive impact on the company as a whole.

You will work closely with the different business functions to influence product strategy, provide technical direction and take the current platform to the next level as the company expands into global markets. You will monitor and improve end-to-end development processes and initiatives.

You will further:

  • Provide senior level IT technical lead services and direction (which may include) software, middleware, and/or hardware projects (e.g., applications, networks, communications, and client server technologies) on a single platform.
  • Provide technical expertise in systems, technical infrastructure, tools, modelling, external interfaces, and other areas.
  • Complete complex development, design, implementation, architecture design specification, and maintenance activities
  • Provide deep technical guidance
  • Identify and implement methods/algorithms for optimizing business processes and improving IS application efficiency. Provide guidance to the technical team responsible for the development, unit/integration testing and implementation of simple to complex business solutions
  • Conduct daily code, design and process reviews, including code sampling design reviews, code profiling, unit test reviews and process adherence for source code control and builds
  • Design and develop frameworks, database schemas and back-end systems to support full-featured and styled web applications, considering both business and technical considerations
  • Prioritise both strategic projects and urgent short-term work
  • Oversee extensive development in web crawling
  • Develop and take ownership of the product platform roadmap, and effectively manage business and technical priorities
  • Implement technologies and develop strategies to enhance the platform
  • Ensure that critical business and product milestones and timescales are met
  • Work closely in partnership with global business leads and the leadership team to develop and deploy new products
  • Maintain the high quality and integrity of the product and platform
  • Develop and maintain an atmosphere of continuous improvement in both the staff skills, as well as the technical maturity of the product and platform
  • Establish fit for purpose development practices and processes for internal development teams
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships across local and global stakeholders


Skills and experience we are looking for

  • Developed and built rich-client-based (i.e. client-server) applications using Windows Forms, ASP or WPF on .NET 4.5 or later, which fully utilized the MVVM design pattern and used Prism/Composite Guidance from Microsoft patterns & practices
  • Strong technical acumen and technical currency in a variety of technologies .i.e. ASP.NET , Java, .Net, Ruby, Windows, Big data DB, MS SQL, Web, SOAP, SQL, Azure, Amazon, API, JSON, load balancers, firewalls, networking (DMZ, DNS), integration, C# and project management and support software.
  • Strong experience of developing product platforms, API’s and integration with third party applications
  • Strong analytical capabilities, with track-record of using both qualitative and quantitative data
  • Strong project management, presentation and communication skills
  • A track record of stimulating and delivering innovation and technical excellence
  • Knowledgeable in system architecture, programming and software design
  • Experience of the full lifecycle of software development and delivery with Agile development practices including unit testing, continuous integration, refactoring and delivering at scale
  • Experience in building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
  • Experience in delivering and managing multiple significant projects to end-users
  • Minimum 10-15 years’ experience in software development and practical software engineering ideally from within a financial institution
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in leadership/influencer position: team lead, development manager or architect
  • Degree in Computer Science or related field
