Founded by a team of Imperial College mathematicians, data scientists and engineers; CheckRecipient is a cybersecurity platform applying machine learning to detect advanced threats on large enterprise email networks. The company is backed by some of Europe’s leading technology investors and works with international clients in the financial, legal and professional services sector.

Engineering at CheckRecipient

We hope to demonstrate to our clients that enterprise software can be done differently. We apply the latest machine learning technologies to huge datasets, tackling new problems whilst providing tools for users with no statistical background to understand their data and the predictions we make. We work closely with our clients to define the future roadmap of CheckRecipient and we deliver this by iterating quickly and shipping often.

Your Role & Responsibilities

Ideally you will have experience in some of the technologies we currently use (Ruby, PostgreSQL, Redis, Sidekiq, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes) and anything you’re not familiar with, you are interested in upskilling in. We are also considering introducing some of the following technologies over the next 6 months: Go, RabbitMQ, NoSQL, Cassandra as well as moving to a microservices architecture.

You should be excited about working on large applications where building a scalable architecture is at the heart of everything you do. CheckRecipient is predominantly a high-throughput API delivering sub-1-second responses, so experience working on similarly large and complex applications is a bonus.

Everyone on the engineering team has the opportunity to learn new technologies and experiment with new ideas. You will have the autonomy to work on your own projects whilst working closely with our CTO to deliver on our vision.

As a bonus you will be interested in machine learning and big data problems as we hope you will contribute in brainstorming sessions about how we can deliver more value to our clients through the rich data we collect.
