Job Introduction
Audiences are at heart of everything we do at the BBC and ensuring that this remains so is the role of our Marketing and Audiences (M&A) team. Audiences bring the outside in via research and insights; Marketing takes the inside out via brand strategies, campaigns and audience engagement. M&A provide in-depth understanding of our diverse viewers, listeners and users of new media services. The Optimisation team within M&A, Design & Engineering is responsible for consulting the business at a pan-BBC level to deploy, educate & support AB and multivariate testing as a discipline.

This multi-faceted role plays a critical part in the strategic rollout of a pan-BBC AB and multivariate testing programme. You will be liaising with stakeholders from the engineering, UX, development and product communities at all levels across the BBC portfolio.

Role Responsibility
Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Implementation of 3rd party testing technologies (Optimizely & Maxymiser)
  • Collaboration with technical forums across the business to build trust & confidence in the technologies and be the key point of contact for BBC technical teams
  • Become a subject matter expert of the Maxymiser & Optimizely platforms
  • Day-to-day development in (X)HTML/CSS/Javascript through effective collaboration with external suppliers & internal teams
  • Review and understand website architecture across the BBC portfolio
  • Provide best practices to product development teams

Architecture, processes & best practice documentationIn this position you will be expected to liaise with stakeholders from the engineering, UX, development & product communities at all levels across the entire BBC portfolio to understand, advise and deliver:

The Ideal Candidate

  • Minimum 2 years front-end JavaScript development
  • Excellent knowledge of front-end coding languages (JavaScript, (X)HTML, CSS, etc…) and webpage structures
